Jeopardy Power Point
I created this Power Point presentation using Microsoft Power Point. I decided to make it about mental Math because I feel it is very important for students to be able to compute math problems in their head and not always by a calculator. I think students will love doing mental Math as a game because it will be much more exciting for them, and they will be practicing their Math skills at the same time! The information in the Jeopardy game is made up of problems I came up with what I thought would be appropriate for a 2nd grade class review time. It includes addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems; because there are multiplication problems I would use this only after teaching multiplication and practicing it for a while. In my classroom I would use this game as a quick review and practice of mental Math skills. I would probably use it many times and simply change the questions and answers. This game could easily be edited to fit other Math problems or even a completely different subject. The graphics in the power point are from Clip Art, and the sound clip is from YouTube. The graphics on this page are from Google.com.
There are so many ways teachers and students can use Power Points. Teachers can make games like the one below to review information before tests. It could also be used to help keep students' interest during lectures. Teachers could also make up outlines on Power Points that the students could use to review or help organize information. Students can use Power Points to organize information for themselves. They could also use them for oral presentations that the teacher assigns.
